ANGE POSTECOGLOU has refused to be drawn on speculation linking Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa.

The Parkhead manager sidestepped questions about reports Gerrard could depart Ibrox to Aston Villa and what effect it may have on the Hoops’ title prospects.

Instead Postecoglou insisted everyone inside Celtic Park must focus solely on ensuring momentum is maintained in the east end of Glasgow.

He said: "They are the kind of distractions that I avoid to be honest.

"I have been really laser focused on here and I will continue to be.

“I am trying to get everyone here too and it hasn’t been overly difficult.

“It is like watching TV these days. People binge a series in one night because we don’t want to sit there and wait a week for another episode like we did in the olden days.

“I feel a lot of people want to binge this season too. You know one result and it is over or one good result and it is done.

“I just want everyone really aware that we can’t get distracted by anything or anybody else because we are trying to build something and be successful.

“You can’t afford to be looking over your fence to see what other people are doing.

“We have to build our house, make it nice and beautiful and see how it stacks up against the rest of the neighbourhood.”
