Joe Hart: While there was very little the Celtic goalkeeper could do about the first Dundee goal, his decision to come out to punch at the second was costly. Over the course of the match he had relatively little to do as Dee struggled to create clear-cut chances - though he did once again demonstrate his leadership qualities when calming Josip Juranovic down after his spat with Ryan Sweeney following the hosts' first. 6

Anthony Ralston: The 22-year-old continued to celebrate his new deal in style and was heavily involved in three of the four Celtic goals. It was his deflected shot that rebounded off the post for Jota's opener and it was his link-up with Liel Abada down the right to cross for Kyogo's header. It was that same right-sided combination that led to Jota's second while Ralston generally made it difficult for Dundee to get any joy on their forays forward. 8

Cameron Carter-Vickers: As well as winning a few headers to quell some Dundee attempts at balls over the top, the American stepped out of defence to win the ball back and buy a free-kick which ultimately led to the fourth goal. 7

Stephen Welsh: It was a second successive start for the youth academy product after a spell out the team and, while it did not bring the clean sheet or the goal that it could have, it was nonetheless a decent display. Welsh's willingness to carry the ball forward was evident, as were his attempts to set Jota free with long balls though they did not always come off. His threat in the opposition area was on show once again but he will be disappointed to have put a free header wide immediately before half-time and was part of a worryingly static Celtic defence for Mullen's goal. 6

Josip Juranovic: The Croatia international dovetailed well with Jota down the left although his natural inclination to cut on to his favoured right foot does, at times, hinder Celtic's attacking options down that flank. Always composed when on the ball, Juranovic looks particularly comfortable and unflustered when being pressed and this occasion was no different. He was ostensibly marking Lee Ashcroft for Dundee's second but was put off even making it difficult for the Dee player by Hart's decision to come for the ball. Booked for a minor scuffle with Sweeney. 6

Nir Bitton: This was a clever display from the Israeli. Back for the second match in a row in his central midfield role, he showed his forward-thinking side from the base of midfield when passing through the lines from deep, demonstrated good defensive instincts to cover full-back areas on a couple of occasions while his calm but quick footwork to get the Hoops out of potential trouble in their defensive third too. It is no surprise Dundee got very little joy in the central areas with Bitton patrolling them. 8

Callum McGregor: A quieter afternoon in terms of big moments for the captain but he was still his efficient self and probed to create openings through the centre when he could. Could have closed down the cross for Dundee's second with more intensity. 6

Liel Abada: In a similar fashion to his role in Kyogo's opener against Ferencvaros on Thursday, Abada won possession back on the edge of the Dundee area to help create Kyogo's second goal. While the 20-year-old generally worked well with Ralston down the right, and his direct runs and pace on Celtic's occasional counter-attacks worried the Dee defence, his decision-making in the final third still needs work. 6

David Turnbull: Like McGregor, it was a fairly quiet day for the Scotland international. His work-rate was praised midweek and there were certainly elements of the same persistence at Dens Park, although he was breezed past rather easily by Paul McMullan for Danny Mullen's goal in the first half. Would have bagged an assist from one of several set-piece deliveries if not for Welsh's misdirected header before half-time. 6

Jota: An absolute menace all afternoon. The Dundee defenders simply struggled to deal with the Portuguese winger; whether he zigged or zagged, passed or shot, faced up the defender or ran in behind, he was once again at his scintillating best. A poacher's effort to put Celtic ahead was followed by a goal of great desire (to get across the defender) and quality (to finish it on the volley with the outside of his weak foot). He could even have had a hat-trick before being withdrawn 10 minutes from the end. 8

Kyogo Furuhashi: In just over an hour on the pitch Kyogo gave the packed Dundee defence problems with the kind of movement and speed of thought that has tormented backlines from Pittodrie to Budapest so far this season. It was this awareness that allowed him to create enough space in the middle of the penalty area to head home his first despite being surrounded by three or four dark blue shirts. His second was pure instinct and no less than his work-rate deserved. 8

Substitutes

James Forrest (for Abada, 61): Looked lively as he stepped up his return from injury with a half-hour cameo. Showed his lightning quick footwork has not dimmed during his lay-off to round the goalkeeper and set up fellow sub Giorgos Giakoumakis for a chance late on. 5

Giorgos Giakoumakis (for Kyogo, 61): Given 30-plus minutes with Dundee's defence there for the taking but cut a figure low on confidence and should have done better with a chance after being set up by Forrest. 4

Mikey Johnston (for Jota, 81): Tried to get on the ball when possible.
