KYOGO IS TOP CLASS

Probably one of Kyogo’s quietest games for Celtic. Struggled to put his stamp on the game, but ultimately stepped up when it really mattered. Such a calm and composed finish despite being closed down by the impressive Ferencvaros goalkeeper Denes Bibusz. After a stunning start to his Hoops career, Celtic struggled when he was out injured. Since his return there has been an upturn in form and that just goes to show how important he is to Ange Postecoglou’s side. The Aussie gaffer admitted this week that he was secretly delighted that Kyogo was not utilised for Japan over the international break, and he will just be hoping that the 26-year-old can keep up his run of grabbing key goals at key moments.

CELTIC MUST GO ALL OUT AND SIGN JOTA

Reports have suggested that if Celtic wanted to sign Benfica winger Jota on a permanent basis, then they would need to fork out over £6million. It’s clearly a lot of money but going by his current form, it would be money worth spending. The Portuguese youngster was again Celtic’s most influential player as they picked up a crucial three points in the Europa League against Ferencvaros. His directness and pace caused Celtic’s Hungarian opponents all sorts of problems throughout the 90 minutes. Jota’s eye for a pass was also on show as he teed up Kyogo for the opener on 57 minutes. The pinpoint ball split the visiting defence and ultimately split the teams in a tight affair up until that point. Postecoglou refused to pile all his praise on Jota after the weekend’s victory over Motherwell, but he will know inside just how big an impact he has made.

TIME FOR ABADA TO STEP UP

In total contrast to the performance of Jota, Liel Abada had a poor performance on the opposite flank. The Israeli international is another who started well after joining Celtic in the summer, but his form appears to have dried up of late. The 20-year-old appears to be lacking confidence and despite finding himself in the right areas his final ball was way off the mark. With James Forrest still battling back from injury, there is little pressure on Abada to keep his spot in the Celtic starting XI. The return of Forrest could possible do both him and Celtic the world of good.
