Charlie Adam was at the centre of playful ribbing by Celtic fans after he predicted Odsonne Edouard would leave for just £5million.

The former Rangers midfielder questioned the club's decision to hold out for a bigger fee with Edouard having just one year left on his contract.

It looks like the striker will depart Parkhead later today with Crystal Palace poised to sign him in a £15million plus deal.

But Adam told PLZ Soccer he felt Edouard would not be worth splashing big on with so little of his deal left. He said: "What are they going to get for him now?

"His performances since he's come back, they're not going to warrant double figures. So what do they get? £5m and go from there?"

On social media one Hoops fan piped up and slated Adam for his take, saying: "Aw the best tae Eddie great signing thought he wis running doon his contract so absolutely delighted we got great money for him. Maybe @BBCSportScot can get @Charlie26Adam on tae discuss the fee."

But the 35-year-old took the pop in his stride and blasted back over his fee faux-pas. He laughed: "It’s an unbelievable fee for someone with 1 year to go. I did tell u it would have a 5 in it".

Edouard looks to be on the way out as does Ryan Christie with Bournemouth circling.
