Scott Bain: Bain won the race over Barkas to get the nod to be named the No.1 in such a massive tie for Celtic. He confidently claimed Evander's cross on 22 minutes, however, he had a terrible start to the second half with an error-strewn display and looked a bag of nerves after that. Bain's misery was complete when he was forced to pick the ball out of the net when he was well beaten by Awer Mabil's downward header on 61 minutes and again by Onyedika in 96 minutes. 5

Anthony Ralston: Committed a rough and reckless foul inside the first three minutes but the right-back recovered his composure well enough. The Danes tactic was to exploit him down the flank but Ralston more than held his own and made himself difficult to beat and defended resolutely. He also peppered the Danes box with some decent deliveries whenever he galloped forward. He threw himself in front of Mabil's late strike on 79 minutes. 7

Dane Murray: The teenager came in for the suspended Nir Bitton and formed part of an inexperienced defensive unit. He was tidy in everything that he did and soaked up any pressure. He always seemed to be on hand to mop up any danger and dovetailed nicely with partner Welsh. The 18-year-old acquitted himself very well and did his growing reputation no harm at all. 7

Stephen Welsh: The 21-year-old youngster was asked to play at the heart of the Celtic defence and earned the first yellow of the game on 21 minutes for a needless wild lunge when he did not have to commit to the challenge. He walked a tightrope from then on after putting himself and his team under pressure. He did clear his lines whenever he needed to though and can hold his head high. 7

Greg Taylor: The full-back did well to snuff out the danger when Junior Brumado threatened on 38 minutes. The Scotland star also tried to link play with Christie whenever he could but his distribution could have been a lot better. He was also found positionally wanting when Mabil ran off him to power home a headed equaliser. 5

Ismalia Soro: The Ivorian still loves to thunder into challenges and does put himself about on the park. Soro twice incurred the wrath of the referee in the first half for fierce attempts to win the ball. He also has to learn that he can't contest every challenge and that standing your ground and jockeying an opponent works just as well. Booked in the totting up procedure after 77 minutes. 6

Callum McGregor: The skipper was not on the ball enough in the opening period for my liking and was anonymous for long spells. However, he redeemed himself with a beauty of a volley that sailed into the top corner in 48 minutes. It was an unstoppable strike that the midfielder celebrated with real passion - and no wonder. 7

David Turnbull: The midfielder tested Lossi with a ferocious strike from the edge of the box which the goalkeeper tipped over on eight minutes. His link-up play in the first half was not up to his usual high standards. He was also caught napping with the cross ball that led to the Danes' second goal on 94 minutes. 6

Liel Abada: The promising new signing hit the ground running with a goal in the first leg on his competitive debut and the Israeli winger had a quiet first 45 as the Danes doubled up on him. He did clip in a neat cross that just evaded Edouard on 36 minutes. At times he neglected his defensive duties which will not have pleased his manager and he was replaced by James Forrest on the hour mark. 5

Ryan Christie: The midfielder is reputedly in talks to extend his stay with the Hoops which would be a real bonus for Ange. He was inches away from slipping in Edouard on 18 minutes. The Scots star was fairly subdued in the first half and things did not really improve much for him after the break as he failed to get a grip or have an influence on proceedings. 5

Odsonne Edouard: The Frenchman may well have played his last game for the club and he skied an early volleyed effort over the crossbar when he really ought to have hit the target. He enjoyed a real tussle with former Celt Eric Sviatchenko with no quarter asked for nor given. The attacker was certainly not at his best on the night but his genuine star quality will be sadly missed now that he appears to have called time on his Hoops chapter. 5

James Forrest: The winger missed a real gilt-edged opportunity when he dragged a shot wide of the target after 61 minutes to make it 2-0 and within seconds the Danes drew themselves level. Forrest changed the attacking dynamic of the game and looked very lively in the final third. He could have scored twice but sadly didn't. 5

Tom Rogic: Replaced Soro on 98 minutes when the tie looked dead and buried. 2

Albian Ajeti & Adam Montogomery: Came on in the second half of extra-time when it looked a forlorn task. 2

Subs not used: Vasilis Barkas, Boli Bolingoli, Osaze Urhoghide, Liam Shaw, Scott Robertson.
