Vasilis Barkas: The £5 miilion Greek goalkeeper was an absolute standout in the first half. There was no sign of a crisis of confidence as the stopper made two fantastic stops from Brad Potts and Scott Sinclair within the opening 10 minutes. He looks to be grabbing the opportunity to establish himself as the undisputed No.1 choice for the Hoops with both hands. 7

Anthony Ralston: The right back position remains a top signing priority for Postecoglou. Ralston fails to inspire confidence in almost everything that he does. Has been handed a second chance at Celtic but on this evidence he is not going to grasp it. 4

Osaze Urhoghide: The erratic defender was replaced by Murray after being given a bit of a roasting all game. He needs to learn two things - to anticipate better  and to imporve his timing as he cannot win every tackle.  He is robust enough but sometimes his positional sense leaves a lot to be desired. 5

Stephen Welsh: Rather worryingly for Postecoglou he was buffeted about by the likes of Ched Evans and Scott Sinclair and lucky not to concede a penalty in the opening eight minutes for a challenge on Sinclair. Playing against Preston's wily strike duo will be a good education for the sterner tests to come. 6

Greg Taylor: Possesses a fabulous engine and got forward to good effect and combined well with Montgomery. His achilles heel though is his delivery into the penalty area and Postecoglou will know this is something he will need to work on moving forward if he is to become a potent outlet on the flank. 6

Liam Shaw: Played the anchor midfield role and certainly adds a much needed height presence in the engine room. He pulled a shot wide on 16 minutes when he really ought to have hit the target. The 20 year-old is a tidy enough player and can be robust in the challenge. 6

Callum McGregor: Celtic must resist any attempts to prize the captain away from the side this summer. The fulcrum of the team and natural born leader and showing signs that he and Turnbull are develping a real understanding. 7

Owen Moffat: The 19 year-old was handed another massive chance to impress under Postecoglou and stake a claim for a starting berth in Tuesday night's European tie. He was largely anonymous and the match largely passed him and he seemed to struggle with the step up in class as he failed to make any significant contribution in the opening 45 and made way for Henderson at the break. 4

David Turnbull: The best player on the park by some distance and hit two shots which sailed inches wide on six minutes and another that was saved by Rudd's foot in the 31st minute. A leading light last season and it looks as if he is keen to continue where he left off. 8

Adam Montgomery: The most impressive of the youngsters on show for the Hoops and showed a willingness to take his man on as well as do the dirty work. Postecoglou will have been impressed by that attitude and he could have played himself into contention for Tuesday. 6

Albian Ajeti: Replaced by Edouard on 63 minutes and starved off any decent service. The Swiss hitman failed to show for the ball and make himself available and was content to play on the fringes of the contest. Postecoglou has a real dilemma in the striking department and wantaway Frenchman Edouard looks favourite to start on Tuesday. 5

SUBS:

Euan Henderson: Came on for the ineffective Moffat and like Montgomery also made his mark. He floated over some delicious deliveries and crashed in a superb late effort that almost brought an equaliser. Although he did waste a free-kick from a good position after 80 minutes when he selfishly elected to shoot instead of crossing into the box. 6

Dane Murray: Replaced the wayward Urhoghide and did rather well in defence. The defender looked very accomplished on the ball and took up some great positions but he will need to iron out all the rough edges as he needlessly slid into a studs high challenge on 65 minutes which was due to the impetuosity of youth more than anything. 6

Liel Abada: The £3.5 million wide man from Israel played himself right into contention for a start against Midjtylland. The 19 year-old looked really bright and sharp on the right wing when he came on just after the hour and was denied a debut goal by a fine save from Rudd from a snapshot 75 minutes. A real impact substitute who can be more than satisfied with his first contribution. 6

Tom Rogic: The Australian still possesses the same twinkle-toes and can beat a player all ends up. Another who came on in the second half and displayed some wonderful touches. The big question is - has Rogic had enough minutes in his legs to start a Champions League of such importance? Postecoglou might think needs must. 5

Odsonne Edouard: The Frenchman replaced Ajeti on 63 minutes and gave his strike partner a lesson on how to lead the forward line. Offered himself at all times, came short, played intricate passes and looked hungry to create. Unfortunately he was never given a glimpse of goal but a fine 30 minute cameo and another who could offer Celtic's best chance of advancing against the Danes. 6

Boli Bolingoli: The full-back that came in from the cold. Handed a first team chance by Postecoglou after his loan spell in Turkey. He certainly knows how to get up and down a pitch but his concentration levels at times are awry. It remains to be seen if he can force his way back into the Celtic first team picture and has a lot of convincing both manager and supporters that he is up to the task. 4

Leo Hjelde: Replaced Welsh on 63 minutes and continues to catch the eye. Looks composed and calm and gets the basics right. John Hughes compared him to Virgil Van Dijk during last season's loan stint at Ross County and he has a long, long way to go before reaching those levels but the raw material is most certainly there. 5

Barry Coffey: Flung on for 15 minutes and given some game time but it wasn't long enough to make a lasting impression or influence proceedings. 2

Scott Robertson: Another youngster who came on for the final quarter of an hour to replace Liam Shaw. 2

Lee O'Connor: Given last 15 minutes in defence and slotted in where Anthony Ralston had vacated. 2

Subs not used: Jonathan Afolabi.
