Everything Matt O'Riley had to say to Celtic TV after sealing a move to Parkhead from English League One side MK Dons...

How does it feel?

Amazing. First time taking the stadium in (was) even better than I thought it'd be. To put it simply I'm just really, really happy to be here at a massive club and I'm really excited to get going.

When the manager spoke to you about coming here - and I know you had offers from elsewhere - what were your first impressions?

Yeah, there were other options - ones that I thought were the only ones before Celtic

Celtic kind of came out the blue, quite late. I had a phone call with Ange (Postecoglou) and he came across really well. He was the one who really sold it to me - obviously the club itself is massive but speaking to him really just sorted it out for me.

With the style he plays and all that surrounds it, him as a person - as soon as I got off the phone I was ready to come.

You know some people connected with the club like Peter Grant (coach), Stefan Johansen (team-mate) and Patrick Roberts (schoolmate) don't you?

Peter Grant coached me during my time at Fulham in the under-23s. He's a really nice guy and he helped me develop quite a lot in my time at Fulham.

Pat I went to school with. He's a little bit older than me and at the time he was someone I looked up to within Fulham as he was doing really well.

I got to know Stef really well. He's Norwegian, I've got a bit of Norwegian in me and Danish as well so we got on in that sense.

I'm good mates with all of them but it just shows a club like Celtic can attract people like Stefan, Pat and Peter so it's nice to follow the same routes.

Celtic is a big step up for you and will put you on the big stage...

That's what I want as a player. One of the main reasons I came here was the fanbase, the size of the club and the thought of playing even in front of 40,000 sounds like a lot to me so the fact it's going to be even close to 60,000 is pretty incredible and something I'm really excited for.

Does Celtic's attacking style of play fit into your own style?

Yeah that's another thing that was massive in my decision to come here. I always said I wasn't just going to join a club if they paid me a certain amount of money if the style wasn't right - I'm not that kind of guy. The style is right here and that's one of the main reasons I've come.

Ange said to me on the phone that, of course, we want to win and the expectation is to win but it's winning the right way and to win playing proper football. That's what I came here to do.

You've worn the captain's armband before at MK Dons and a club like Celtic needs as many leaders as it can get in the dressing room...

To be honest I wouldn't say I'm the loudest guy. I probably won't be the guy who shouts at everybody, but I do try to take responsibility on the pitch for how I play. I'll never shy away from getting on the ball and stuff like that. I'm not afraid to use my voice when I need to but I try to lead through how I play and act as opposed to being loud.
