Ange Postecoglou was speaking to Sky Sports after the 0-0 draw with St Mirren in Paisley.

What did you make of tonight’s performance?

It’s a game we should have won and I’m disappointed we didn’t. I guess I'm left with that feeling because we created enough chances to win three games and we lacked a little composure and quality in the front third to finish it off.

Does lacking a recognised striker cost you tonight?

I still think with the chances we created you don’t have to be the highest quality player to finish it off. I think there were good enough chances and moments in the game to score a goal.

Were you expecting St Mirren to be weaker than they were?

No, not really. You don’t know who was going to be available. Irrespective of their line-up when a game goes like that it’s a game you should win.

Could you have gone stronger with your line-up this evening?

I played everyone who was available mate. Anybody who didn’t play tonight is not available to play. Either they are injured or out through suspension. The team we had out there tonight Is the team that was what we had.

Was there any Covid issues?

All injuries or unavailable. We had Carl Starfelt suspended.

What will you do with your players now the winter break has shifted?

We still have the game against St Johnstone so that’s our first focus and then we will adjust our schedule accordingly after that now we have some certainty around it. It gives us an opportunity to do some planning and use the break well.

What do you make of the decision to bring forward the break?

I was very supportive of the club’s position. I think we have to give every chance for the supporters to be at the games. This is the best solution to give us that opportunity. Of cousre, there are no guarantees but I thought it made logical sense and common sense to use the natural break we have to ensure that we have as many supporters in the grounds because they are an integral part of the game itself. I’m pleased there’s a compromise been made and hopefully that means by the time we restart we will have more fans back in the stadium.

Have you ruled out a warm weather camp?

Yeah. We will do our work here. It makes sense. We have to use our time wisely and not put unnecessary risk on our players or on the club. It’s valuable time to get the team up and ready for the second part of the year and it makes sense to stay here.
