Celtic's players celebrated wildly at the final whistle at Hampden as the first trophy of the Ange Postecoglou reign was secured.

Few would bet against more following, such is the impact being made by the Aussie manager in Glasgow's East End.

Of course, the small matter of a £4.5m signing named Kyogo Furuhashi has a fair bit to do with it as well.

The Japanese star returned to the action with a marvellous double that proved decisive.

Here's what four of his teammates had to say about the game and his contribution after the match.

Joe Hart

He told Premier Sports: "It feels amazing. I'm buzzing - it's been a while since I've been part of a final.

"I came up here to do this, I'm very proud of what we've done so far, it's been an indifferent ride but we've got here and won it.

"It's crucial to get that first trophy - what a feeling."

He added:"We've to get our heads down, keep focused and keep playing our football.

"The league's tough, it's tight at the top and we want to keep it that way as long as possible.

"Obviously, any chance we get we want to get as high as we can."

Greg Taylor

He told Premier Sport: "It's a great feeling. These are the moments you work hard for.

"It's been a long few months for me but this makes it all worthwhile.

"The gaffer has been amazing. It was more of a grind today but we still went and got the result.

"It's about the performances, too, and if we keep doing what we're doing I think we'll be successful.

"Callum's pass straight to Kyogo for the equaliser was great and he took both his goals unbelievably well.

"This is my first League Cup and hopefully we can work towards more trophies."

Nir Bitton

He told the BBC "We couldn’t believe he played today because ten days ago he was injured.

“He did everything he could to be fit. He is just a magician, every time we need a spark he’s there to provide something for us.

“It feels amazing to win more, every time we win something it is amazing because this is what it’s all about.

“Last season was horrendous, I can’t even describe it - it was difficult to play in front of a stadium with no fans, no excitement or joy.

“On top of that the Covid and everything that came with it, it wasn’t a good season.

“I am very happy we have won this first trophy and hopefully we can win more.”

Callum McGregor

He told the BBC: "I spoke before the game about trying to calm everybody down. You're thinking about the game, you want to get the first one.

"The first one's always the hardest and then the hard work really starts to kick in.I "For this group of players to come together in the summer and achieve a trophy at the first time of asking is special.

"I think that was the thing - we wanted to get that out our system, win a trophy and get back to enjoying success on a regular basis.

"The way he wants us to play, he demands of us every day.

"That's the team we want to be and he's always putting the demands on us so as a team we just keep pushing, we just want more success now."
