Ange Postecoglou was talking to Premier Sports after the 2-1 win over Hibs and lifting the League Cup.

Ange, this must be really emotional for you?

Yes it is. Obviously, I know the significance of it and obviously it’s been a hell of a ride so far. We haven’t to come into this opportunity the easy way and I’m proud of this group of players. They have been the most resilient group I’ve ever come across with with what’s been thrown at us in the last five or six months. I’m super pleased they get their rewards.

Does this take the pressure off you, winning the first trophy?

No mate, it’s not pressure, it’s what I want. You don’t accept this position to shy away from creating special things. We are still at the beginning and we want to enjoy this. This group of players has been through an awful lot and yet risen to every challenge including today.  We just want to keep going.

You equalised immediately after Hibs scored?

It was the first time they got in our box. I thought we were really comfortable up until then but it was the perfect response (to Hibs opening goal) and a great way to get back into the game.

Kyogo keeps delivering the goods doesn’t he?

He is a great player but he’s a great person too. He was determined, even on one leg to get out there and help the boys today.

It’s great to have fans inside and the atmosphere is something special today isn’t it?

It’s everything mate, it’s what this football club is about. We just pass through these clubs but people in here are generational support who have invested their lives, their kids lives in this football club. This is the rewards we want to give to them.

Does this feel like it’s just the start for you?

It has to be. It’s the only measure at Celtic. You win it and then you go onto the next one.
