Giorgos Giakoumakis has finally sealed his move to Atlanta United in the MLS from Celtic.
The Greek international striker leaves the club having scored 26 goals as well as winning the Scottish Premiership and League Cup during Ange Postecoglou's memorable first season at the managerial helm.
The 28-year-old reportedly quit the Glasgow side because he craved more first-team football after being forced to play second fiddle to talismanic Hoops attacker Kyogo Furuhashi.
He has been linked with a whole host of clubs during the past few months and at one point seemed destined to join Japanese J1 League outfit Urawa Red Diamonds.
Celtic released a statement which read: "Giorgos Giakoumakis has joined Atlanta United on a permanent transfer. Everyone at Celtic FC thanks Giorgos for his efforts for the Club and wishes him good luck in Atlanta."
The player himself has shared an emotional farewell message on Instagram as he left the Hoops to pursue his American dream.
Sharing a video of his time at Celtic, he wrote: "Well, that difficult time has arrived. It was an incredible journey. I loved and was loved by the incomparable, amazing Celtic fans. Thank you very much! You will forever be in my heart and mind. I will be forever grateful to you. Goodbye, your GG!"
Meanwhile, ex-Celtic defender Alan Stubbs has heaped fulsome praise on Hoops defender Cameron Carter-Vickers by stating that his quality displays for the champions remind him of the way Dutchman Virgil van Dijk performed during his two-year spell at Parkhead.
