It's shaping up to be a hectic transfer deadline day of activity for Celtic.

However Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou looks certain to be more concerned with who is heading out the Paradise exit doors than who is coming in.

Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has all but sealed his £4million plus switch to Atlanta United in the MLS although the vultures are circling and lining up for other Celtic players.

Yosuke Ideguchi is another who could leave Celtic in a deadline-day loan switch. The Japanese midfielder, 26, is reportedly being monitored by clubs in Germany and Japan over a temporary Celtic departure.

Ideguchi's current deal expires in 2026 and he only joined Celtic in January last year but could be headed for the exit this evening.

Quadruple-treble Scottish Cup penalty save hero Conor Hazard is interesting Scottish Premiership outfit Ross County with Staggies boss Malky Mackay still hopeful of concluding a deal.

Defender Stephen Welsh has also been the subject of interest from an English League One side Sheffield Wednesday who are believed to have made an enquiry about the 22-year-old centre-back.

Welsh had limited game-time so far this campaign, with just six appearances to date, and has fallen way down Postecoglou's pecking order with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and now Yuki Kobayashi all in front of him in the centre-back position.

Celtic Way:

The Hoops have also reportedly knocked back a loan bid from Newport County for young striker Joey Dawson.

The 19-year-old was wanted by the League Two side to boost their attacking options for the remaining six months of the season. Inverness Caley Thistle were also hopeful of securing a loan deal for the teenager earlier in the window.

Celtic B are currently sitting in third spot in the Lowland League just two points behind league leaders Tranent Juniors having played two games fewer.

Dawson has played a major role in that success for Stephen McManus and Darren O'Dea's side having blasted an incredible 16 goals this season which largely explains why Celtic are reluctant to let him leave ahead of the midnight deadline.
