Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has promised changes as his side entertains St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership at Parkhead tonight.

The Hoops will be hoping to preserve their nine-point lead at the top of the table against the only side who have inflicted defeat on the Aussie's men this season so far.

The League Cup holders booked a return trip to Hampden Park for the first showpiece of the season against Rangers on February 26, now it's back to the bread and butter of the league.

Postecoglou may well have a few selection dilemmas ahead of the visit of Stephen Robinson's Saints with atonement very much the buzzword after the 2-0 loss the Hoops suffered in Paisley back in September.

The Aussie said: "I haven't made final decisions yet but there will be some changes for the St Mirren game because Saturday's game took a fair bit out of the lads and also we I just feel this is a good one to freshen up the team a bit. We will make a few changes.

"The pleasing thing for me is the guys who have been out recently Sead Haksabanovic, Tony Ralston, Stephen Welsh, and James McCarthy are all training and available. From my perspective, we have got some options there now. Alistair Johnston is good now after missing the weekend game or not starting anyway. I think it's fair to say we will make some changes."

Celtic Way:

Will the 57-year-old be tempted to throw man-of-the-moment Giorgos Giakoumakis in for a surprise start against the Buddies?

Postecoglou admitted that it was business as usual and there had been no change in the Greek striker's current situation with a fee of £3.5million allegedly being agreed with J1 League side Urawa Red Diamonds.

Is there also a place for the returning Sead Haksabanovic, Alistair Johnston or Anthony Ralston? What about new Japanese duo Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi will they have to wait for until the weekend's Scottish Cup tie against Morton in Glasgow's East end before taking their bow in front of the Celtic faithful?

Elsewhere Celtic are still being credited with an interest in South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu.

The attacker plays for Suwon Samsung Bluewings and is being viewed as a possible alternative to fellow Korean forward Gue-Sung who may yet remain with his current club Jeonbuk Hyundai.
