Ange Postecoglou's side appear to be on the right track ahead of their first league fixture of the season.

The Scottish champions defeated English Championship side Norwich City 2-0 in what was their final friendly match before the competitive games get underway.

It was a dominant performance from the Bhoys who received plaudits afterwards from several key Canaries figures, including ex-Aberdeen man Kenny McClean.

The Scotland international had nothing but good things to say about the Hoops' performance post-match.

"We want to win pre-season or not, the game didn’t feel like pre-season, it felt more than that with the intensity and atmosphere so it was a great test for us, perfect game," he told Norwich's official website

"There is still plenty we can work on but it’s a work in progress and that’s a very good Celtic team.

Celtic Way:

"It’s good playing at Celtic Park. I’m sure it’s a venue that everyone enjoys going to, good atmosphere and it was a great test for us against a very good Celtic team who have been successful and they’ve added to that again.

"They’re a very good team, we knew that. We prepared like we would for Cardiff, we watched them, we analysed them and worked on set plays for and against, everything we would be doing to get into the right habits and I think we got plenty out of the game.”

Postecoglou will be relatively happy with how pre-season has went for his team.

The lack of Champions League qualifiers for the first time since 2008 has meant more time to work with the players before the season starts.

However, the real test comes against Aberdeen, when the league flag is unfurled and the attempt at a title defence begins.
