Moritz Jenz has revealed his passion for saving the environment for future generations amid the haunting spectre of climate change.
The 23-year-old German defender veered off-piste by the standards of the usual Scottish football press conferences when he was asked about his passions outside of football.
And the articulate defender, on loan from Lorient in Ligue 1, explained why it's an issue so close to his heart as he cited the abnormal temperatures plaguing Britain in recent days.
He said: "I'm quite interested in the environment. It's the biggest subject around the world at the moment.
"As you can see in London the weather is suddenly 40 degrees and in Glasgow it's suddenly very hot. Everybody says it's not normal.
"I like to use my platform to speak about these things because it's very important and if you have the voice for it, you should use it."
