CELTIC star Matt O'Riley will help new boy Moritz Jenz settle into life at Parkhead, the German has revealed.

The 23-year-old has joined the Scottish champions on a season-long loan from FC Lorient.

The Hoops do have an option-to-buy clause inserted as part of the deal.

Lenz, a powerful defender, played with O'Riley as they came through the ranks together at Fulham.

And he has revealed conversations he had with the Denmark U21 ace about joining the Parkhead giants.

In an interview with Celtic TV, Lenz touched upon how he nearly signed for Celtic last summer, but a deal couldn't be reached.

He then elaborated and said once O'Riley joined in January, it became even clearer to him that he wanted to join Ange Postecoglou's men.

He said: "It's been a dream for me since last year, I really wanted to come here last year. Finally, the dream comes true to play for a massive club. I'm really happy to be here.

"Since last year I've been in touch with Matt O'Riley, we've been best mates since we were together at Fulham. He told me a lot of great things.

"He texted me immediately to say 'tell your agent to push, it would be nice to have you here'. It's finally happened.

"It's always good to have a friend and someone who can help you settle in quickly. I've also met the lads today. They're a good group of people. Very open and very nice.

"I'm looking forward to working really good and go as far as possible this season to achieve great things.

"I followed last season as well. Obviously it went very good for Celtic - they won the league."

On what the Hoops fans can expect from him, he added: "I'm a hard-working player. I like to be physical and aggressive. They can expect me to give everything for the club so that we can achieve the highest targets.

"Every player's dream is to play for a big team and to compete for the biggest trophies and competitions. I want to finish as high as possible in every trophy as possible.

"It's a special club with a special logo, with a special shirt, you know, with a special history.

"There was always a desire to one day play for this club."
